ma ma

girl with a dog by
Myra Anderson
girl with dog
Milton Avery
The 'ma and ma' stands for myra anderson and milton avery (1885-1965).  There was just something that I liked about this painting by milton avery.  As in much of  his work, I like the seemingly carefree drawing, the vibrant colors, the various textures and in this one - I was especially drawn to the dog.  This painting inspired me to do this pencil sketch using my face for the girl (now I'm lying).  It was a difficult sketch for me to do but I really like the end result.

Your girl with a dog is a lot nicer than the original...its so much softer! Beautifully done Myra!!

Sorry, but I prefer your drawing. I was sure you've lied, that wasn't your face. She didn't look like you.

Great sketch. The girl in ma's picture really holds our attention as we make eye contact with her. Although she looks calm and content, she has a hint of mischief. Really enjoyes ma's painting as well.

I prefer the top one even without color. The eyes are luminous and this girl looks so satisfied with life. Surely her puppy has a say in this too.Bye.
